Meet Verlin
I'm a resident and ratepayer of the Municipality of Roblin, and I'm running for council in the October 28, 2026 municipal election.
This website is itself part of how I campaign. The community issue map, the published proposals, the open scorecard - I built them so residents can raise concerns, see what I heard, and check what happened next. If elected, I want municipal information to work the same way: open by default, in plain language, without having to ask twice.
I'm not a career politician. I'm a neighbour who believes council works best when it listens continuously, explains its decisions honestly, and treats tax dollars as a trust.

Why I'm running
I'm running because too many municipal decisions happen out of sight, and too many residents only hear from their council at election time. Roads, drainage, water and sewer are the core of what a municipality owes its ratepayers - and the 2026 flooding showed how much depends on planning and communication before an emergency, not after.
I believe a councillor's job is to ask hard questions at the table, publish the answers, and report back on what changed. That's the standard I'm holding myself to with this campaign, and it's the standard I'd bring to the council table.
How I would work at the council table
Two habits, not a second platform. The actual proposals live on Priorities and Open Government.
Straight answers
I would rather say "I don't know yet, and here's how I'll find out" than give a confident answer that turns out to be wrong.
What I commit to
- Listen before deciding.
- Explain my votes on significant issues.
- Push for evening and recorded council meetings.
- Push to publish more municipal information, not less.
- Ask what major expenditures are for and what result residents receive.
- Support municipal staff with the tools, training, direction and resources needed to succeed.
- Be willing to say when I don't know something - and then find the answer.
Council decides by majority. These are commitments about how I will work and what I will advocate for - not guarantees about what one councillor can deliver alone.
